Size of galeon executable

I use --enable-maintainer-mode=no and --enable-debug=no, yet the size of my
1.3.16.99 galeon file is 20.2MB! I checked the package delivered with my
Slackware distro, and it was 1.2MB.

Out of curiosity, why the huge size? Do I need to change something manually
in the Makefile?  Thx
