That's the way Microsoft thinks as well, give the user a tool that's adequate to do the user's work. Personally, I'd like my tools to make me do my work as efficiently as possible. This means that it has to be specifically tailored for my needs, and the only way to achieve this is to make all those nice little features available to me. I don't mind if I have to use some obscure configuration tool, or manually edit some configuration file to enable these features in the menus, but they need to be there. Avoiding a steep learning curve by removing the curve at all is very short sighted, I'm only a newbie for a very short time, I really need galeon to grow _with_ me, otherwise I might as well be running windows.
