Hi, > >What you are saying is that the vast majority of users don't want to > >know anything about computers, and anyway, they don't have the right > >thing to learn about it. Well, it is lest brutally said, but basically > >it is that. > > You are on crack. I'm saying the vaste majority of users doesnt need or > want to learn about computers more than what they need to get their work > done. > What you are not saying explicitly but it's a sure consequence of your reasoning > is that people that dont care to learn about computers more than what they > need, cant use computers. I have been a computer tutor for kids, elderly and secondary school student for what I can observed is even the use of mouse, how to click, how to double click will cause the elderly "learner" a lot of time, on the other hand, for those you can young (i.e. the kids, school studemnts) can learn this thing very fast. What's make the thing important is, "learning" may not be really a scene that, someone else teachs, but someone can learn the feature by just accidentally enable a features. As long as you the UI and the program is not broken, the additional features usually won't fool others. Everybody learn by themself. So learning is eventually inevitable. I am very agreed on that, use can evolve to become capable to use more and more features as long as the program provides. I think, the curiosity and ability to self learning will make anyone learn some good thing in a very natural way.
