I happen to be a web developer, and although the js part usually isn't
my job, when I do do it, I assiduously test in Galeon and IE. Mozilla is
simply too slow to be comfortable.

If the only browser that gives meaningful feedback on js is IE, then
that's what people will develop for, causing fewer pages to actually
work.

Even though your target audience isn't developers, the content that your
target audience will view stems from them. If they don't bother to use
the browser while developing the page, it won't be a positive experience
using the browser to view the page.
