Context menu disappeared

I haven't found any reference to this on the web. At some point today, the context menu stopped showing up when I press mouse button 3. If I press it while over a link, that link just gets a gay outline, nothing more happens. Also, button 2 does nothing on a link, while it should open that link in another tab. Exactly the same problem is there for Epiphany, while Mozilla and Firefox work as before. Restarting the X session didn't help. Nor did `gconftool-2 --shutdown'. I can't say what triggered this behaviour (I compiled some system stuff, but nothing that I expect to affect Galeon), but it makes Galeon practically useless since I now have effectively just one tab. I remember having the same effect in some sessions via VNC, but back then I thought it somehow was VNC's fault. Has anybody come across this kind of problem? Any help is appreciated.
