According to freedesktop.org MIME database
(/usr/share/mime/packages/freedesktop.org.xml) the MIME type for wmv
files is 'video/x-ms-wmv'

If there's a MIME type that is not included in the MIME database, you
need to write your own xml file in that directory, or in case the MIME
type is an 'alias' for an existing MIME type (application/msword ~
application/vnd.ms-word) maybe add the alias declaration in the
freedesktop.xml.

In both cases you need to run 'update-mime-database' and preferably work
with freedesktop.org so that the MIME type that was previously missed
gets included at some point. (The MIME database is supposed to be
canonical, users are not meant to be tweaking it.)
