Font problems

I'm hoping that this is just a font issue and not something deeper.
While I know Galeon isn't being actively developed anymore it's still
the best darned browser I've found. If anyone wants to take it away from
me they'll have to pry it from my cold, dead fingers! But anyway, moving
on. :)

So if I go to certain pages using Galeon (2.0.2), I get missing
characters represented by the little square with 4 characters inside of
it. But this isn't when I go to pages that are in Chinese or Arabic or
some other font. Ironically, all of the "difficult" languages work
perfectly.

However, for plain old English (ISO-8859-1) I end up missing, of all
things, the apostrophe ('). This only happens on some pages however.
Here are the details I've been able to work out.

The pages that it happens on always have charset specified in the
headers, and it explicitly calls for ISO-8859-1. If I force the encoding
to Windows-1259 the page displays just fine. Now at this point, I would
think that it's just a font issue of some sort.

However, if I open up the same page in IceWeasel, the encoding is
properly detected as ISO-8859-1 (just as in Galeon) except that it
displays the page just fine. However, I've checked my font settings for
both IceWeasel and Galeon and they're both identical.

So I'm at a loss here. Any ideas?
