It's bad practice to follow up on one's own post, but I discovered
something of significance. This morning I that one of my hard disk
patitions had filled, and this was because of the webpage files galeon
had saved. Altogther, about 2.5 Gb.

So I did a test this morning and compared the size of the web page
saved by galeon and by iceweasel. When saved by iceweasel, the file is
51kb; when saved by galeon, it had reached 30 Mb, and when the file
was loaded into iceweasel, it expanded to 235 Mb. The is expansion
consists of the character entities &#109; (m) endlessly repeated. Now
it has grown to 71Mb.
