Clear action plan for the GMC spam problem needed!!

Forum is completely overrun by spammers.

I have been deleting scores of them everyday but competing manually  
against automation is not workable.

As feedback, most postings are single posts from throwaway usernames.
So blocking them after the fact is a bit futile since they will just  
register a new random name and post again.

Blocked 60 pots so far today.

They have to be stopped at registration stage but who will bell the cat?
