Thank you for your reply. This is my rough on add GB2312 support to tidy: Because the tidy supports traditional Chinese (BIG5), I can follow the code of BIG5 processing to figure out where I should add my code. Till now, I found these functions that have encoding processing code: ReadChar, WriteChar, ReadCharFromStream in file "streamio.c" PPrintChar in file "pprint.c" ParseEntity in file "lexer.c" I'll start with the above functions to see what code I should add to support GB2312. This is the first time that I join open source project. Are there any rules (e.g. coding, documentation) that I need to follow when developing tidy? -Ben (Benfeng CHEN) -----Original Message----- From: Terry Teague [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: Monday, July 18, 2005 2:48 PM To: Benfeng Chen Cc: [email protected] Subject: Re: I'd like to join tidy developer group At 10:16 AM -0700 7/17/05, Benfeng Chen wrote: >I am a master student doing research on Web technology. I would recommend you sign up for this mailing list if you haven't already done so. There has been some discussion in the past about adding support for GB2312, but I don't think anyone else has done it, so we would welcome your input. I suggest you describe the technical details of your proposal on the Tidy-develop mailing list, and we will go from there. Having some sample input (X)HTML documents using GB2312 encoding would be helpful for testing purposes.
