Well, I certainly think that having platform-specific code (or, in fact,
feature-specific code) #ifdef'd all over the code is a bad thing, so it
is good to avoid this to the extend possible. I did not look at the pro-
posed patch and don't know whether and if how this could be improved in
the patch, and given that I haven't worked much on the code lately, I'd
leave the decision about the patch up to Arnaud.
