I ran it in the Eclipse debugger and yes, when I get to this point the
WebResponse has the same id, which leads me to believe that it is the
same object.  The ID changes in previous submits.

I hadn't actually thought about that.  On the web page there is a text
field in which one may enter an e-mail address.  I don't enter an e-mail
address in the test, and I also don't enter one when I do it manually.
When I use the website Manually, I have no problems.  I might see if I
can find the javascript file that is housing that function to check it
out further, it isn't on the webpage.

Another good suggestion, I will try that out as well.  I wasn't real
sure how HTTPUnit handled javascript alerts, so I was still researching.
Will popNextAlert() return true or false based on the status of the
alert queue?

What about checkMultipleEmail ? What's in there?

As an after thought - have you actually checked to see if the alert box
is 
present? WebClient.popNextAltert() ??
