Yes I found out that it only takes 20 seconds to compile - but that's ignoring 
the time it took to find the sourceforge svn page, copy the svn command, check 
out the source, load up a new project in Eclipse, find the jars needed to 
compile it etc etc.

Obviously from now on I won't have to do that if I keep tracking httpunit on a 
regular basis, but I'm sure there's a regular stream of httpunit visitors who 
only ever want it once.

I'm not asking you to do that though due to the overhead for you, but if you 
were using maven as many projects do, it would be a no-brainer.

Actually since I am 'mavengilizing', the other benefits of maven include 
automatic source code and javadoc publishing along with the maven repository 
along with the httpunit jar, and also automatic dependency and version 
management for all the jars like xerces, jasper, tidy etc. Those are things 
which would win you lots of maven users (if you want more users).

Having said that though, changing from ant to maven is a big job.
