It seems possible but is not easy. See release notes and 
my experience reports on this in this mailinglist.

I'd be also interested how the situation has improved on 
the Java side of things. There used to be a problem with 
the SUN implementation and one had to use an IBM VM. 

A few years agoI decided to switch of SSL client 
authentication for all my test cases which was a pitty. 
It would be great if the situation has improved since 
then.
