Yes, the SWF file format has a limit on the number of segments you can have in a shape (255 or 511, I don't remember). No, newer versions of Flash don't have a differerent resolution than Flash 4. Units are expressed in twips, and twips are 1/20 of a pixel. Still, you may have some rounding problems. Can't you just make sure that you start the new shape at the exact same coordinates where you end the previous shape ? -- Raffaele -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Douwe Osinga Sent: Thursday, January 29, 2004 8:37 AM To: [email protected] Subject: [ming-fun] Importing generated SWF in Flash Hi, I use ming to generate world maps e.d. I have a bunch of cbd files with the contours of the continents. This works great, i.e. the swfs look very good in the Flash player. The thing is, I want to make some changes in Flash to the SWF. So I fire up Flash MX and import the .swf. Now suddenly there are little holes in the coast lines. The lines that form the coasts are rather long; I split them up in segments of 250 strokes or so, otherwise the MING and/or Flash crashes. It seems that the holes come into existence at these places. My theory is that Ming generates Flash 4 (5?) with a 20 units in a pixel resolution and that the newer flash versions have a different resolution and that these somehow not match, with the result that rounding errors occur. These add up and are put inbetween the segments. Of course it might be something completely else. Anybody an idea what to do about this?
