FYI. I'd like to test with sending to mod-pubsub topics, but I have severe problems using the browser clients. The mod-pubsub.org server is either attacking my system via the AltaVista_Traveral attack, or sending HTTP requests to a URL with "../" somewhere in there which goes above a root directory & triggers my firewall/anti-virus software. Anyway.... What is the consensus for sending content formats to pubsub topics? I have a service that monitors Google and posts lists of URLs and titles - what format should be posted to a pubsub topic? RSS? arbitrary/simple XML? one event per title/link pair? A lot of people have looked at 'resource modeling' and REST - but what guidance is there for content formats? ----- Original Message ----- To: "Adam Rifkin" <[email protected]> Cc: "Rohit Khare" <[email protected]> Sent: Saturday, October 04, 2003 7:07 PM Subject: SearchAlert and blog notifications > Adam, > I've been fiddling with my searchalert.net service & have put together a > 'web notification' mechanism that can post to web resources - blogs, > mod-pubsub topics, etc. > > The searchalert.net service monitors google - both news and web searches - > and sends notifications to destinations a user selects.
