email + web + blog + RSS + chat

As conversations go from instant messaging to mailing lists
to private emails, onto blogs that generate comments and news
feeds, I'm convinced there's a collaborative killerapp to be
developed.  On the mod-pubsub.org blog, we've codenamed this
killerapp "Mojito"; more on this as it develops.

Mojito -- The KillerApp For Mod-pubsub

mod_pubsub = Web + ability to publish from and subscribe from browsers
(making them "live"), PHP, Perl, Python, Java, Visual Basic, C#, etc.
Yesterday Joyce talked with us about the killerapp for mod_pubsub: 
   1. secure chat (like this, but in a browser) 
   2. "live" RSS news aggregator (in a browser, without polling) 
   3. "live" group blogging with multiple read and write permissions 
Joyce hypothesized that these three applications all converge into one
live, browser-based "super app" that allows secure, real-time collaboration
and news feeds. Blogchatter is a step in this direction.  We'll codename
this killerapp Mojito and it will motivate much of the future work in
mod_pubsub as we modify the infrastructure to drive this app...

Actually, Rohit likes to call it "FoRKexpress".
Maybe instead of "Mojito" we should call it "Rojito".
