characters not displaying

On http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Double_hyphen the double hyphen and 
other characters are not displaying. All I get is 'The double hyphen 
(=, ?, or ?) is a punctuation mark that ...' (where the equals and 
question marks are shown as a vertical bar or a small square).

Is this something I can do something about, or is it a problem with the page?
