Thanks, James! This has been very helpful and has solved my 
problem. The only remaining but essentially trivial quirk is 
that the temp files I want are now stored without extensions. 
So I have to add ".mp3"; but that's a minor nuisance. I will keep 
those page & file locations in mind for future reference.
