Thanks for the help.

For some reason, now the site & Opera work OK together.

I tried both the search and the new URL
< http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/americas/8223717.stm >

I also tried it 3 times,
because it failed on the 3rd try for John Lewis.

I assume something is (was?) weird about the site content/structure.

Opera 9.64
Win XP SP3
Java 6 Update 15
Adobe Flash Plugin 10.0.32.18
