O in task tray

Assuming I'm right in thinking the task tray is the bit at extreme bottom right, is there some way of preventing Opera from putting a red O there when it's loaded? It's completely superfluous and (I suspect, though it seems unlikely) may have something to do with a bug I've found which frequently causes a tab, on being closed, not to close completely. That is, I'm left with literally half a tab, and the program hangs. I can still close it down but I then have to close the Process down in the task manager. I have an idea that when I first installed 10.50 (I'm now running 10.51 build 3315, which is very satisfactory except for this problem) I was asked if I wanted that icon there and I left it on, which was the default.
