I do not know anything about your "half-tab" bug, but there is a way to get rid of the tray icon: You just need to invoke Opera executable with an extra parameter /notrayicon, something like this: "C:\Program Files\Opera\opera.exe" /notrayicon (You might want to edit link you normally use -- it's possible via right-click and Properties.0 Anyway, I also doubt that this setting could cause such serious bug.
