My crashing problems are literally the opposite. I'd open some tabs in the
background (more specifically, Facebook news feed pages) and it would crash.
Happened at least once every three clicks, but some times every time I
clicked. I've never once had a problem with closing tabs.

I don't remember manually updating to 10.52 (build 3337 - should have
mentioned that in my first reply), but I guess I did. One day it was
crashing all the time, the next day it didn't crash. Now it will crash maybe
once every few days, but it has definitely got better.
