Some additions: The problem affects websites like Wikipedia or IMDb as
well; loading a random page from these sites takes an average of 3-4
minutes with Opera 12.10. Obviously, moving between pages is a pain. The
same pages load in Chromium within the fraction of a second. In Opera
12.10, during page loads, all browser windows are frozen (= inaccessible).

When loading pages from WIkipedia, Amazon, IMDb, Google, etc., Opera
12.10 causes an excessive CPU load of 70-90% (according to Gnome's
system monitor). Loading exactly the same pages in Chromium, the load
jumps for a second to 3-5; with Opera, the load stays for minutes at
these levels. I assume, the PC only keeps responding because I'm running
a quad core CPU. However, I did not notice an unusual memory usage.

Also, Opera 12.10 generally responds with a noticable delay when marking
text with the mouse or when clicking in editable fields; it feels kind
of drugged, and it is very hard to keep working with it.

Greetings, -A.
