When Chrome-based-Opera first came out I tried it on Windows and did not like what I saw. All of the best features of Chrome were included but none of the best features of Opera were there. If I am going to use Chrome, what is the advantage of using Chrome with an Opera skin? This is too bad, since formerly I was an avid supporter of Opera and even worked to get others onboard using it. However, I have now relegated Opera to my "great software fondly remembered" list, along with WordPerfect. My strategy at present is to continue to use Opera 12 (Linux and Windows) as long as it works, and use Chrome whenever it doesn't. With each passing month I am using Chrome a little bit more. If you have any hope of getting me to try Opera 24 on Linux, you'll need to first provide an exact list of which former features of Opera are no longer available.
