Re: Opera 24 for Linux released on Developer stream

 Hello.

 Thanks for the news. I am, as others it seems, still using Opera 12.
It's been a while since I tried the new Opera, but at that time it just
felt wrong, when not lacking.

 I want to comment this:

 I think that's the wrong attitude.

 Opera 12 was a complex product and, as such, specific behaviors and
features were probably linked to a small minority. Individually, it's
hard to justify their existence. Just a small minority uses this one?
Trash it! Given enough iterations, this kind of thinking is akin to
decomposition. You lose it all.

 Take the Links tab. When I want to cherry pick a few files of a
webpage, Opera 12 saves me a lot of time through this feature. I select
them, right-click and Save to Download Folder. If that's gone, too bad.
When I tried new Opera I didn't even get so far because I was biten by
the lack of "Rocker gestures". I didn't even know they had a name. I've
since read that they were readded but... meh.

 I recently introduced Opera (12!) to my girlfriend. She wanted to save
a images in a javascript encumbered environment that made it hard. What
I taught her: F12, disable it, right-click and save, F12, reenable.
This single line cannot express how happy she was that it could be done
so easily. Weeks later she approached me "I think I forgot what you
taught me..." and then I saw she had new Opera installed. :\

 Please, don't take this as bad mouthing. I'm deeply thankful for the
long run I had of classic Opera and it will still be my browser for the
years to come, until internet breakage do us part.
