Hi all,
We can leave the whole PEAR::DB database abstraction layer out of the combined code if you don't want it in. All of these changes are contained in includes/functions/database.php (and some config settings in incldes/configure.php) so it's easy to leave this out of it.
Well this sounds like an ideal project to work on.....give me a few weeks and I would be able to help out as well.....I do believe that the DB abstract layer is the ideal solution to what is needed for osc to compete in all major markets. Enabling osc to work with all the various DB types will give it a distinct advantage over other software projects as well.

The team is too busy most likely and there is a real need for this abstract layer.....(As well I think that Linda McGrath --Team Member might be interested in this as well might be we might PM her on this).....I would be willing to take on some of the programming to make osc complient in ANSI SQL....

cheers,
