shipping cost before loggin in?

Is there any way one can add a zip code box, where a customer can get an estimate of shipping before they go through the process of checkout?

This way, they know the total cost before going through the hassles of signing up for an account, etc.

By zip would give a good estimate, knowing that when the customer actually enters their address, they get an actual rate.

I checked contributions, but didn't find any.
