This message was sent from: Suggestions and Proposals http://forums.oscommerce.com/viewtopic.php?p=190230#190230 ----------------------------------------------------------------
So you really want to reimplement theme, block rearranging (instead of the manual commenting stuff you have now), permissions and all that?
Actually yeah... I tried PostNuke before and not only did I find it cumbersome but it was poorly coded and comes with a bunch of junk that I don't want. Your opinions might vary. Personally, I don't consider PostNuke a CMS. It has a CMS module but the overall script is more accurately a portal. I don't necessarily want a portal for my shop. I want a shop where people can find things and spend money. If the shop is buried in some block, that might not happen. There are quite a few things that OSC is missing and I will be glad when they are implemented. The least of which is themes as most stores only have one theme anyway instead of it being selectable like in your average portal applications. However I would like the ability to have multiple stores off of one database with categories assigned to one or more stores and each store with their own theme. Now that would be a great feature to implement.
