[phpOpenTracker-User] Simple Report timeout/server load

i am tracking our webpage since a few months, collecting about 13 
Million Records. Whenever i tried to make a few queries with 
simple_report my mysql writes GB of temporary tables and the server 
load increases immense from 0.xx up to 17.xx. After 5 Minutes there is 
a timeout from our proxy-server which i cannot heighten. 
Unfortunately the server load never comes down any more so i have to 
restart mysql.
I am not sure if this a mysql or pot problem.
Maybe someone has a hint?
I am confident that with the mysql merge_tables feature it will be much 
better, but i found no way to split existing pot-tables.
