No Pear, bummer, it will make installing some of the plugins and other
packages more of a pain then it needs to be.

Make sure you untarred into a directory that is in your php include path.

Now you need to start logging. Are you going to directly embed
phpOpenTracker into your pages for logging or use the web-bug?

What do you mean by install? There is no 'install'. Once you have
installed phpOpenTracker you need to start logging. To log document
requests using the direct embedding technique  have a look at
http://www.phpopentracker.de/docs/en/installation.setup.html Listing 2.1

The documentation is good but it can be a bit hard to understand at
