The devil is probably in the details here.

Which operating system are you using?

Your usage patterns seem pretty funky, and I'm not
sure I fully understand them. In the first access
method you describe, you use the pc like a standard
windows PC-- you login to the machine directly from
the screen/keyboard attached to the pc, windows
selects a user-profile based on the login, and windows
then launches all of the programs in the Start group,
which includes pixory. I understand this usage
pattern.

How does this second usage pattern work?

It sounds like you are no longer sitting in from of
the machine, and yet you rebooted it somehow. Is this
some new feature in the latest version of Windows, or
are you using some kind of 3rd party remote-access
software? If you are not logged into the machine, how
can pixory be running?

I'll be able to help more with your data problems when
I understand how you're running Pixory.
