images don't show up

I just downloaded and installed pixory for the first time a few minutes ago. The first thing I noticed was the lack of a browse button when choosing a main image directory. I selected a folder of the same images that I already have posted on my website (low res jpegs) and only 2 out of the 30 displayed. I used the software to send an email and invite myself to view the pictures. When I viewed them, again only 2 out of 30 were visible. I can't figure out how to search the images by either file name or meta data info. Thanks, Prem Yahoo!
