I'm always looking for ways to simplify and improve the Pixory user
experience-- continuous, incremental, refinement is the name of the
game here.

The security restrictions I outlined in my last message should only
block attempts to initialize Pixory from the WAN-- initializing Pixory
from a remote machine on the same LAN as the Pixory server *should*
just work, without any fiddling on your part.

Pixory's definition of LAN is: same subnet where subnet mask is
255.255.255.0. Or, put another way, two ip addresses are on the same
LAN if the first 3 parts of the "quad dot four" ip address are the same.

e.g.

same lan: 111.222.333.1, 111.222.333.99

If you believe that the client machine that you are trying to
initialize Pixory from and the Pixory server machine are both on the
same LAN, then it's possible (actually likely) that your Pixory server
host information is misconfigured, at least from the perspective of
Java. This is actually a fairly common problem on Linux that many
Pixory users have stumbled across.

This is obviously a bug. I thought I had fixed it with the 3.9
release, but I can't possibly test against all possible configurations
(I don't routinely test against Pixory running on an app server-- I
rely on user-feedback for that).

No, but it's something I"ve been thinking about lately. It will be
fairly easy to implement (at least the functionality I'm thinking of).
Can you tell me exactly which elements of the UI you would like
"styleizable"? I'm thinking of exposing static css rules, either
directly for power users or in some dumbed down format. However, a
general purpose templating mechanism, which would allow the Composer
to actually change layouts (a la PHPNuke) is not in the cards for the
near future.
