first time user, questions about pixory-webapp

I'm using pixory-3.9 beta with Tomcat 5.0.19.
Deployed the .war file, and all I'm getting is a page with these texts

And when I click the login link, it prompts me with username and
password. How to know what is the username and password? How to
configure them?
Is there a documentation about this on the website that I missed?
Also, why is there a configuration for hsqldb?
Is it a requirement?
Is pixory using filesystem to store images or database?
Is there a step by step guide for pixory users?
