Cliffano,

I just tried starting Pixory in Tomcat 5, according to the directions
in the README file, and it worked fine.

1) Drop pixory.war in the webapps directory.
2) go to
http://localhost:8080/pixory/pxapplication?service=page/AlbumBrowser

and I land on the basic configuration page-- you should not see a
login page until _after_ you have configured Pixory (on the basic
configuration page) for the first time.

> Also, why is there a configuration for hsqldb?

Pixory uses hsqldb to index the albums, and also to store any
information that is not album centric (like contact lists and album
access control information). However, the images (pictures) and album
text/properties still reside in the original album directories.

yes

filesystem

Not really. There is a README.html file, which contains important
instructions for installation and configuration. The UserGuide.html
describes, briefly, how to use Pixory. And the FAQ.html provides
answers to all of the questions you still have after reading the first
two documents ;)

regards,

joe
