getting Pixory running on Free BSD

Joe,

My Friend and sysadmin is working to get Pixory up on my main server 
for client use. He is running into some issues. Can you make any 
suggestions based on the following output? If you can help we can get 
you more data. If you want/need to contact Jason (the systadmin)

Here is his first note:

I just can't get the 1.4jdk built on freebsd 4.9.  There are some 
bugs 
in the port and they are dragging ass on fixing them. I'll try 1.3 
today.  That should be enough for pixory, i'd think.

And then after getting 1.3 to compile here is the other note and 
output stream showing some errors:

Well, I got java installed and started pixory. and it goes into this 
infinite loop and dies
