Adam, > So why not open source it? In good time. It sounds really easy, as though all I have to do is upload the code and we are done. In reality, there is more to it. An open source license must be chosen, and I must fully understand, and like, all of the implications of that license. The code base has to be cleaned up. There are a number of aspects to how the project is structured that will lead to confusion when outside developers start to look at it. And confusion means that people will be wasting my time with a lot of unnecessary questions. Finally, I would like to have more core "stuff" in place, so that the temptation for others to "fork" the project is minimized. But some new developments in my personal life are adding pressure for me to "open source" it by the end of the year. regards, joe --- Adam Saltiel <[email protected]> wrote: > >These are limitations of free software as I > envision it. > > Adam Saltiel > > > -----Original Message----- > > From: Joe Panico [mailto:[email protected]] > > Sent: Friday, July 23, 2004 2:01 AM > > To: [email protected] > > Subject: [pixory-beta] Re: joe - site issues with > Pixory.org > > > > Gil, > > > > I'm never going to be able to solve all problems > for everyone.
