Joe,
This sounds hopeful. I can't advise on the license, but people on the
Tapestry or other lists might be helpful. I think there would be
interest and support for the project, again possibly from some in the
Tapestry list? Pixory could also form a useful part of other projects,
that is not forking but as essential components for additional
functionality.
It seems that one of the core areas of a program like this is the way in
which images are a) compressed and b) thumb-nailed to different ratios.
I would expect that from a users perspective the user would want to know
the nature of those algorithms, whether lossless or losey or some
choice. This is information as essential as the Exif information. But, I
believe, difficult to handle from the programming point of view because
of memory/performance issues?
