Update with keeping configuration

Joe,

Did a quick search and could not find it. So if it is discussed
before: sorry about that.

First the feedback:
I am a happy beta 3.10 customer. I run pixory under Tomcat through Apache.
It works like a charm and apart from the minor (admin) bugs I
encountered and posted before, do not encounter any problems during usage.

I'm not sure if I get additional features (perhaps the cache feature
from 3.11) but I like to update to 3.12 
Question:
The FAQ states the following 
"I'm running an older version of Pixory. How do I update to the latest
release?
Completely delete the older release. Download the latest release and
unzip it. "

Does did this mean all configuration is lost (groups users and stuff)?
