I find the yahoo groups search engine to be completely useless.
However, the Pixory mailing-list is archived by gmane as well:

http://news.gmane.org/gmane.comp.web.pixory

Gmane has nice threading and searching, so when I'm looking for
answers I usually go there.

Pixory stores user supplied information in 3 places:

1) Album properties (flow, attributes, orderings), text, annotations
(captions, narrative), etc. are stored within each "image" folder in a
directory named ".album".

2) A database (HSQLDB) is created under <home>/.pixory (or ~/.pixory
on unix-like OSs). That database holds some configuration settings,
your contact lists, and all of your "share with listed contact" links
(links from albums to sharees).

You absolutely **should** periodically back up this database.

3) A small amount of easily recreated configuration information is
stored within a location that depends your OS. These are values like,
"application port" and "smtp server", which you shouldn't worry about
backing up.

It's very likely that, regardless of which OS you are running and how
you have your directories laid out, your pixory application directory
(created from pixory.zip) is distinct from 1), 2) and 3), which means
you can safely delete it without losing any data.

joe
