So separating the proxy port and maintenance setup port (http server) would 
solve the whole thing?

That would be easy. Most routers have their maintenance http on non-http 
ports though most of them don't act as proxy.

But if separating the http server from the proxy server by port would solve 
the whole thing to act as intercepting proxy, no matter if those requests 
are meant for http or a http-proxy, that would be an easy thing, no?
