Summary: Show the blocked reason also in the Privoxy window

Initial Comment:
Some requests:

1. Add ftp support (when you use tor you can't access to ftp bacause Privoxy don't support it)
2. A portable version of Privoxy will be very useful
3. Show the blocked reason also in the Privoxy window. In Privoxy 3.0.11 if debug is enable you see only "Crunch: Blocked: http://site.com", it can be "Crunch: Blocked (reason): http://site.com"

#1 has been rejected, #3 has been implemented a while ago and #2 should be
covered by Lee's packages.

What keys are added in the windows registry?

I know the installer will add keys to the registry, but I don't think
Privoxy does.

I added privoxy-3.0.11.zip to the download page.

Since there's no installer, you'll have to get .action and .filter files
associated with an editor before you can use any of the edit functions on
the Privoxy taskbar icon.

Lee

If you want portable then you probably already use portable 7-Zip. 7-Zip
can extract NSIS installer files.

Use that to extract the Privoxy setup for windows when you don't want to
run the installer. In the result extracted path move the 2 subfolders of
$[31] up one level.

Adding the block reason after the URL in the log message isn't going to be
a problem for me.

Things that are blocked tend to have URLs that are longer than the log
window can display, so when I want to copy a URL from the log window I left
click on the start of the URL and then do a <shift><end> and <ctrl>C to
select and copy the URL from the log window.

I did another quick test and pasting "http://www.example.org/ (Block reason
here)" into the show url info page form works. So adding the block reason
after the URL in the log window doesn't cause me any problems or extra
keystrokes :)

Thanks,
Lee

I meant behind the URL in the log message:
Crunch: Blocked: http://www.example.org/ (Block reason here)

Nope - not a problem. The "Look up the actions for a URL:" form on
http://config.privoxy.org/show-url-info works even if the user-supplied url
has a trailing " (Might be a web-bug.)"

Thanks,
Lee

If you are going to do that, please make it a run-time option to
(in|ex)clude the block reason. I like the current log format and would
rather not have the log looking like

Crunch: Blocked (Site-specific block pattern matches.): http://something
Crunch: Blocked (Might be a web-bug.): http://something
Crunch: Blocked (Path matches generic block pattern.): http://something
Crunch: Blocked (Blocked image request.): http://something

Thanks,
Lee

1) The "lack" of FTP support is also explained in the FAQ:
   http://www.privoxy.org/faq/trouble.html#FTP
2) What's your definition of "portable"? Privoxy already
runs on a fair number of different platform and it also
runs from removable media without issues (that I am aware
   of).
3) Already on my TODO list.

I think you can forget ftp support. Its been request many times. Privoxy is
an HTTP proxy, and unlikely to change in the near future.
