Re: PRIVOXY

Uhm.. not active for Chrome maybe, but if IE is configured to use
Privoxy it'll still be active & used for things like windows updates.
Open Internet Explorer, click on Tools and then Internet options.
That opens a new window - click on the Connections tab at the top and
then the Lan Settings button.  That opens yet another window - clear
all the check marks in that window.  There should not be a check mark
for
- Automatically detect settings
- Use automatic configuration script
- Use a proxy server for your lan
Click OK to close that window & get back to the Internet Options /
Connections window.  If there's anything listed under Dial-up and
Virtual Private Network settings, click on the entry to highlight it
then click on the Settings button.  That pops up a new window - make
sure there's no check marks next to
- Automatically detect settings
- Use automatic configuration script
- Use a proxy server for your lan
then click on OK to close the window.
Click on OK to close the Internet Options window & now IE isn't using
Privoxy either :)
