Status of Privoxy for iOS (and, in time, for Android)

Hi all,

I've recently moved from an iPhone to an Android phone so do not intend to
continue development of the Privoxy for iPhone release building module
(iOSPackageBuilder). Here is the current status of the project:

- Compiles and builds a fully operable installation zip of Privoxy that is
limited to working only whilst connected to the internet via WiFi (despite
my best efforts I cannot discover how to proxy the data cellular
connection).
- Requires a jailbroken iDevice (naturally enough - the software installs
no icon on the phone screen; for this and no doubt many other reasons it
would not pass Apple's submission vetting process for the iTunes Store,
quite apart from the need to register for a developer license).
- Is a somewhat manual installation; the resultant zip file must be copied
to the phone manually and extracted, then two installation scripts run. It
is not yet in a fit state to publish to a Cydia (the 'jailbreak iTunes
Store') repository for automatic installation.
- Has no GUI app, hence the user must have the means to edit configuration
files on their phone in order to enable config editing via Privoxy's own
web interface.

I would like to add the work in progress to CVS just in case someone else
takes up the baton down the line, and even think it worth publishing the
installer for download from Sourceforge (once the documentation has been
updated with relevant installation instructions for iOS). Given the status
described above, what do you all feel about this?

Secondly, don't hold your breath but naturally I now want to develop a
Privoxy for Android package builder. Watch this space...

Cheers,

Ian
