Summary: Log IP address of requests

Initial Comment:
I don't see a clear mechanism for reporting the IP
address of a requesting system in the log file. If
this is only available when logging everything, I
would request that it be broken out as a separate
debug bit. To explain, I would like to see the IP
address of the system using Privoxy (when Privoxy
is configured to serve multiple systems) when the
requesting system connects to Privoxy.

Message:
Very strange - with two servers, one on AWS and another on Rackspace, both
with the same Privoxy version 3.0.20, the Rackspace server gives the domain
name. It must be something is the OS itself.

So please disregard my comment below...

Message:
I'll add that while the "debug 8" does show the IP address in standard log
format, the URL that's shown on the log line is missing the domain (just
showing after the first "/"). This means that while I can see the IP
address that's accessing Privoxy, I can't see the domain they are
requesting - just the path part of the URL.

Any chance a patch could show the domain name as well? If I knew C I would
fix it myself!

Thanks,

Dave

In your config file, uncheck the debug bit 512 for "Common Log
Format". This will log the request itself along with the requesting
IP address.
