Summary: Privoxy not running anymore after System Updates

Initial Comment:
Hi team,

I am using Privoxy 3.0.21 64 bits on a Macbook Air Lion 10.7.5

1) I installed Privoxy 3 weeks ago. Working fine.

2) I just did the Mac System Software Updates and rebooted the Macbook. Software installed was iPhoto updates from Apple. Cannot say what exactly.

3) I realized privoxy is not running as a service anymore, however I tried to start or restart the service but terminals gives this output:

cbgairmac:Privoxy CBG$ sudo ./startPrivoxy.sh
Password:
org.ijbswa.privoxy: Already loaded

4) Downloaded privoy 3.0.21 64 bit andt installed it again but doesnt work anymore.

? What is that?

Message:
Dear Lan,

meanwhile the issue is fixed. I had to totally delete all files, including
performing the uninstallation.

But I dont think this is a permanent solution for customers.

So, yes I can confirm to have entered loopback address in the system proxy
settings of my mac.
As I said. privoxy ran perfectly allright until I have performed the iPhoto
update a copple of hours ago.

Okay here is the output of ps ax | grep privoxy:

cbgairmac:~ CBG$ ps ax | grep privoxy
12548 ?? Rs 0:00.20 /usr/local/sbin/privoxy --no-daemon
/usr/local/etc/privoxy/config
12782 s002 R+ 0:00.00 grep privoxy
cbgairmac:~ CBG$

But this output is taken now after fixing the issue by newly installing
privoxy.

Hi there,

So just to confirm, if you configure the Network Preference Pane to use
127.0.0.1:8118 as proxy then you find you cannot browse the internet at
all, correct? What output do you get from the following command in
Terminal:

ps ax | grep privoxy

?

Cheers,

Ian
