Ryan has offered to take on the role as the Contributed Plugins Czar and
maintain the contributed plugins side of PyBlosxom.
I think of the contributed plugins as a vital separate but intrinsically
related subproject of PyBlosxom. As Ryan mentioned a few emails back
(possibly on the users list--I forget), the plugins provide a lot of
functionality and we really need to be paying a lot more attention to them
and the plugin ecology.
I see the responsibilities of the Contributed Plugins Czar loosely as
these:
- the czar will maintain of anything in */contrib in the repository
- the czar will be the first point of contact for patches, bugs,
feature requests, documentation, releases, ... for those plugins
There are probably some other things--we'll figure them out as we go
along.
Ryan has been a huge help over the last few months in terms of fixing
documentation, plugins, and PyBlosxom core and helping out. He's got a
series of things he's interested in fixing and I think his participation
would be a huge boon to PyBlosxom development and he'd be a good addition
to the team.
I wanted to run this by all of you to see if there were any issues or
things I hadn't thought of.
Does anyone think this is a bad idea?
