I realised too late I had forgotten to paste a link to my site, but I guess 
you worked it out. I'll freely admit that my html knowledge is limited and 
that I have copied sections of my templates from other sites that did things 
I like and don't fully understand all the implications. I know it did not 
have the category issue on an older version of Pyblosxom. Checking back on 
archive.org I can see that it didn't use a list back then, so that's an 
obvious candidate.

I don't understand all the errors it gives. It complains about tags that do 
seem to pair up and it all works in the browsers I've tried.

I've cleaned up a few obvious issues, but have not fixed the categories. I've 
been trying to pair up <p> tags properly on my articles recently as I 
understand that's more standards compliant.

Well I learnt a bit more. I hope to figure it out one day, but I will get by 
for now. It's not like I have hundreds of visitors complaining about the 
layout. Thanks anyway.
