Another wgbwiki question

One the page:-
http://bluesock.org/~willg/cgi-bin/pybltrac.cgi/wiki/wbgwiki
it says:-
wbgwiki formats the page using the wiki flavour template. So you
need to add a wiki.html file to your datadir (assuming you're
using the html flavour). I tend to copy my story flavour templates
over and remove the date/time-related bits.
Now I haven't as yet added a wiki.html file but my /wiki pages seem to
be displaying OK.
In fact I'm a bit confused (nothing new there!). Why do I need to add
a wiki.html if it uses a 'wiki' flavour? I have previously added a
flavour of my own (called pybl) and all I have done to create that
flavour is to add a pybl.flav directory to my flavours directory which
is pointed to by by flavourdir value in my config.py.
I don't have a pybl.html file so why would I need a wiki.html for the
wiki flavour?
Yes, I'm very confused, I *really* don't follow that paragraph from
the wbgwiki documentation. It seems to be saying that the pages use a
certain flavour which isn't the flavour I have chosen, and also there
seems to be another machanism by which they choose their flavour.
Help!!!! :-)
